A Bentley Magazine editorial feature connecting luxury vehicle ownership with the world of bespoke British tailoring.

The brief was to show a parallel standard of craft, discretion and personal service — the kind of quality, judgement and individuality that sits naturally beside the Bentley brand.

Shot at Grey Flannel on Chiltern Street, the feature explored tailoring not as surface luxury, but as a working culture built around fabric, fit, detail, taste and client understanding. The story formed part of a regular editorial series linking Bentley with makers and specialists whose work reflects a comparable level of refinement and exclusivity.

The photography needed to balance portraiture, environment and detail. Timothy Everest was photographed within the store and tailoring space, with cloth, garments, tools and interiors giving the images their context. The aim was to create an elegant but lived-in editorial sequence — polished enough for a luxury publication, but grounded in the reality of a working bespoke environment.

Approach & Consistency

The approach was built around restraint. A project like this does not need obvious luxury signals forced into every frame. The strength sits in the details: cloth handled well, a room with history, the confidence of the subject, the relationship between maker and client, and the quiet authority of a specialist environment.

The photography followed the rhythm of the space, moving between portraiture, interiors, garment details and working moments. The images needed to feel connected to Bentley without becoming automotive, and connected to tailoring without becoming a simple menswear feature.

The visual consistency came from tone rather than repetition — composed, warm, precise and quietly assured.

Outcomes & Use

The final images created an editorial feature that aligned Grey Flannel and Timothy Everest MBE with Bentley’s wider language of craftsmanship, individuality and personal commissioning.

For Bentley, the project gave the magazine a visual story around quality and exclusivity beyond the car itself. The feature positioned bespoke tailoring as part of the same cultural world as Bentley ownership: considered, personal, beautifully made and defined by the client’s relationship with the maker.
